Quick Fish Sandwich with Avo Slaw
This is quickly becoming a favourite for me and the household. I love it because it take 15 minutes, it is healthy and it tastes great. The boys are more about the taste and that sometimes I make wedges with it, anyway, that's another story. Enjoy xx Ingredients (for 2 - adjust as you need to) 2 thickish Gummy Shark fillets (the long skinny ones are not ideal) 1 chilli - chopped 1 large clove of garlic - chopped A handful of coriander - chopped Salt and Pepper Olive oil 4 thi

Lemon and Parsley crumbed flake
As the weather has started to warm up (not very consistently) we have had a bit of a fish blitz at our house and I am loving anything with home made bread crumbs, they are so easy and lift a dish a notch or too, plus you can flavour them to suit your mood. I just love fresh gummy shark or flake, it is such an easy fish to cook with and the lovely seawater flavour works with just about anything. This is one of my own creations, it's an easy go to on a week night and served wit

Quick Fish Tacos
I've been home alone most of the week which means a couple of things... my house is tidy and I can eat what I like. I made things I've already blogged and one night I had eggs on toast, but I did make these quick and easy fish tacos on Monday when it was 36C and it was a total fire ban. I would normally do them on the BBQ but that wasn't happening so I stayed inside and did them in the pan. I halved the recipe for just me - usually I would use one smallish fillet per person a

Fishy cakes with Ling and Horseradish
I found this recipe and have been wanting to give it a try because I am all about eating more fish but sometimes I just don't feel like it. These cakes are really light and yummy and the Ling is quite delicate in flavour, so it's not too fishy. A great one for kids! Enjoy xx Ingredients 450g ling - skinned 2 bay leaves 150ml milk 150ml water 400g desiree potatoes - peeled and chopped The zest of 1 lemon - finely grated 1 tbsp horseradish - grated 1 tbsp flat-leaf parsley - ch

Salmon Mornay an old favourite with a twist
We were driving to Melbourne on Friday afternoon trying to think of some new recipes for this week. It's been cold and miserable so the discussion was all about hearty winter stews and casseroles. We got talking about Macaroni Cheese and Noel suggested a salmon or tuna mornay. My mum used to do one when we were kids and I thought it was pretty amazing. Now, looking back, I think the basics were right but the fresh salmon (instead of the tinned), fresh bread bits (instead of s
